Britain will continue to supply the Palestinian Authority with funds, even if the PA again applies for UN membership. Speaking to the Gaza Ma'an news agency, UK deputy-consul general in Jerusalem Ben Saoul said that the UK was committed to supplying funds to the PA until at least 2015. Britain provides about $160 million in aid to the PA each year, Saoul said.

Saoul did not say whether the UK would support another bid by the PA to be recognized as a country by the UN.
