Egypt: Former Intelligence Head Charged in Rafah Attack

Former Egyptian intelligence chief Murad Mu'afi has been charged with responsibility for this summer's terror attack near Egypt's border with Israel and Gaza, in which 16 Egyptian soldiers were murdered, according to a Friday report by the Al-Ahram daily.

The semi-official Cairo newspaper says a local attorney filed suit against Mu'afi, charging him with negligence and inaction regarding the attack. The claim was turned over to Egypt's military-justice system.
