The Palestinian Authority will ask to upgrade its position at the UN to a non-member country in the coming year, its foreign minister said on Thursday.

Foreign Minister Riyad al-Malki announced that PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas will declare the PA’s intention to request the upgrade during his address at the UN General Assembly next month.
