Fear of Tuberculosis at Hadassah Ein Kerem

Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem announced, Thursday, that it would start tuberculosis screening for tourists and other patients from countries with a high prevalence of the disease, in order to deal with the tuberculosis and the primary health problem for which they are being treated. The announcement followed the isolation of a European tourist who had come for cancer treatment had to be isolated after tests showed she suffered from TB.

Last week, Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv reported that a doctor and 11 other hospital employees, including nurses, tested positive for the disease during periodic examinations at the hospital. The disease was attributed to the rising number of immigrants and illegal aliens from African countries with a high rate of the disease.
