Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange posted modest to sharp gains, Thursday. The TA Composite Index closed at 990.27, up .37 percent, while the TA 100 rose .38 percent to 999.59, tempered by a .02 percent loss to 1,120.58 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues. The 50 stocks outside the TA 100 finished the day at 356.03, up .59 percent.
Leading the gainers was the oil and natural gas index, which jumped 4.65 percent to 979.74, followed by the insurance issues, which closed at 770.99, up 4.58 percent as the financial institutions rose .37 percent to 771.54, despite a 1.55 percent drop to 851.86 by the bank stocks. The biomed issues finished the day at 723.67, up 1.89, percent while the rest of the technology issues advanced .43 percent to 359.02. The communications and media stocks closed at 437.85, up 1.42 percent, while the real estate index rose 1.24 percent to 238.58.
