Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad held a meeting with  Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, during this week's summit meeting of the Non-Aligned  Movement (NAM) that took place in Tehran.

During the meeting, Ahmadinejad praised the economic, scientific and cultural ties between the two countries. He called for a trade system based on the national currencies of both countries.
