There must be more pressure on Iran to keep it from pursuing its nuclear program, Minister of Strategic Affairs Moshe Yaalon said Wednesday, speaking to IDF Radio (Galei Tzahal).
“The Iranian people will give up the option of creating a nuclear threat only if it fears for its existence and feels threatened,” he opined. “Part of this is being accomplished with the economic pressure.”
The Iranian opposition plays a role, too, he noted. “The opposition there is oppressed. A tough economic situation could bring it out to the streets, so the regime feels threatened, but it isn’t enough.”
