Schools Told to Teach Shamir’s Legacy

The Education Ministry has ordered schools to teach at least one lesson about former Prime Minister Yitzchak Shamir, Kol Yisrael reports. The instructions said students should be taught about Shamir’s values, and should discuss the issues he faced and the decisions he made.

The lesson about Shamir should be taught before the holiday of Rosh Hashanah in just over two weeks, ministry officials said.

Shamir passed away over the summer.
