Munich Victims Remembered in Natzrat Illit

A city square in Natzrat Illit (Upper Nazareth) will be dedicated Wednesday in honor of the 11 Israeli athletes murdered at the Munich Olympics. The square sits adjacent to the city stadium.

Ilana Romano, whose husband Yosef was among the slain athletes, told Arutz Sheva that the city’s memorial is a fitting response to the Olympic Committee’s failure to commemorate the Munich victims. “It’s important to tell the story of Munich to those who haven’t heard it, and here we are speaking to the young generation who were not alive then,” she explained.
