The government’s treatment of Migron residents is comparable to the British White Paper that blocked Jewish immigration to Israel, activist Dr. Gadi Eshel said Tuesday, in a letter to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.
“Imagine that the state of Israel, which just gained independence, were to continue to hold fast to the British, anti-Semitic White Paper laws, arguing that the law is the law and must be upheld. Imagine that it would close its gates to Jews,” he wrote. The government is doing something similar by treating Israelis in Judea and Samaria as foreign occupiers, he argued.
The case of Migron in particular is a situation in which “the injustice cries out,” he wrote. He called on Netanyahu to adopt the findings of the Levy Report, which ruled that Israel’s presence in Judea and Samaria is legal under international law.
