Tuesday's Supreme Court hearing on the petition by Migron residents not to be evicted by the state opened with a question from High Court President Asher Grunis on the readiness of homes in the nearby Givat Hayekev hillside. A representative of the state said, "We believe the evacuation must take place in the next few days. There are new demands from the people of Migron and the [Binyamin] regional council regarding the alternative site. We will meet those demands with as much flexibility as possible but we cannot keep all our promises."
An attorney for the residents responded, "I am happy to hear that there is no disagreement that the alternative neighborhood is not ready. There are safety problems so it's impossible to put the residents of Migron there and endanger the residents."
