Australia Reopens Jewish Community Terror Investigation

Australian media Monday said that an investigation into threats against Jewish institutions in Sydney in 1982 would be reopened, in light of new evidence that has been discovered. The investigation surrounds an Arab terrorist, Muhammad Rasheed, who is serving a seven year prison sentence in the U.S. for attempting to carry out a terror attack on a flight to Japan in 1982. Rasheed was apparently involved in planning and carrying out terror attacks in Sydney as well, the reports said.

Authorities are also searching for another terrorist, Hussein Mohammed al-Omri, said to be Rasheed's partner, and a bomb expert, the reports said.
