Court: Alien Children to Join Eilat Schools

The High Court ruled Monday that children of illegal aliens in Eilat must be admitted to rschools in the city. The decision gives legal standing to an agreement on the matter by the Eilat municipality, the Education Ministry, and groups representing the aliens.

According to the agreement, the children will be placed in a special “absorption class,” similar to those provided for new immigrants. On Monday, MK Michael Ben-Ari urged parents in Eilat to keep their kids out of the schools participating in the program, saying that such “social experiments” could be conducted in the center of the country, if the court wished, but not on the backs of Eilat parents.
