Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, Rabbi of the Western Wall and the Holy Places, on Monday mounted the world's largest mezuzah. Rabbi Rabinowitz was assisted by millionaire philanthropist Shmuel Flatto-Sharon, who donated the mezuzah. The mezuzah's case was designed by the late Spanish artist Salvador Dali – one of the three mezuzahs that Dali designed.
The mezuzah, made of bronze, is 1.4 meters (about 4.5 feet) tall and 25 centimeters wide, weighs 40 kilos (about 90 pounds). The parchment, on which the verses of the mezuzah are written, is 60 centimeters long.
