Oren: US Would Appreciate Israeli Attack on Iran

Michael Oren, Israel's ambassador to the United States, claimed, last week that - contrary to negative forecasts - the United States would appreciate a successful Israeli attack on Iran's nuclear development program, according to a Monday-morning report by the Ma'ariv daily. The claims were made in a private conversation during a visit to Israel.

It was also reported that Oren rejects the perception that an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities would harm security and diplomatic relations between Israel and the U.S. During said closed talks, the ambassador said that history shows that every time Israel has launched a successful military attack contrary to Washington's stance, the move only increased the American's appreciation of Israel.
