Chairman Ofir Eini of the Histadrut Labor Federation said, Sunday, that he hoped Monday's meeting with Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz will result in an outline of arrangements to pay off the debt of Channel 10 Television. Last week, the Second Broadcast Authority announced that a quarter of the station and Website's approximately 600 workers would have to be dismissed, following the announcement of a September 2nd deadline for forfeiture of financial guarantees due to the debts.
Crediting the Treasurer for getting involved, Eini said, "You have to remember that Channel 10 is in a state of uncertainty. It's a very problematic situation for a television channel which has to plan productions and programs. Therefore I hope there will already be a solution by the beginning of next week, the second of September, when the supposed Second Authority to forfeit the guarantees."
