The Israel Medical Federation reacted, Sunday, to Saturday night's violent incident at Ziv (Sieff) Hospital in Tzfat by saying, "Unfortunately attacks against doctors and medical staff have become routine, and we have had our fill." Doctors struck after the incident.
A statement by the federation said, "Violence against doctors is actually violence against society - doctors and patients alike. We demand that managers of medical institutions implement the exclusion law approved less than a year ago, which allows the removal of a person who was verbally or physically abusive to the medical staff or property of the institution for a period of up to six months. We have applied to the State Attorney's Office to prosecute attackers of doctors in an expedited manner. If the wave of violence we are experiencing continues and steps are not taken, we will strike the system."
