Report: Barak Told Cairo Committed to Peace Treaty

Defense Minister Ehud Barak was told by his Egyptian counterpart, Abdel Fatah As-Sisi, Wednesday, that the government in Cairo is committed to the peace treaty between the two countries, according to a Friday report by the London-based Arabic daily Al-Hayat. As-Sisi spoke on the telephone with Barak before a meeting with Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi, in which As-Sisi relayed Israel's concerns about the presence of Egyptian troops and heavy arms in the Sinai, in violation of terms of the treaty.
