France Considering No-Fly Zone for Syria

French Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said, Thursday evening, that his country would consider enforcing a partial no-fly zone over Syria to protect civilians from attacks by the Syrian air force, as the international community did for Libyans during the revolution that toppled Muammar Qaddafi.

Interviewed on France 24 Television, Le Drian made it clear that declaring a no-fly zone over the entire country would constitute an escalation to war, which France would only do with international support.
