Haifa's Chief Sephardi Rabbi Questioned by Fraud Unit

The Chief Sephardi Rabbi of Haifa, Rabbi Shlomo Shlush, was questioned on Thursday by the Fraud Investigation Unit, on suspicion that he promoted his associates, gave kashrut certificates to factories in exchange for donations, and pressured a kashrut mashgiach (supervisor) to provide incriminating information about his opponents.

The investigation material against Rabbi Shlush will be transferred to the State Attorney's Office, which will decide whether to indict him.
