Two new schools have been built in the Binyamin district north of Jerusalem, and another three schools will open a new wing. Regional schools will also get another 45 mobile classrooms.
“Some of the schools were built after a years-long struggle for authorization of the land, including legal battles in the Supreme Court,” said Motti Yogev of the Binyamin Regional Council. Another five schools will be built in the upcoming year, he said, and construction will begin on 6-10 more.
The Judea and Samaria region has the highest population growth in Israel, and frequently needs more classroom space.
