MK Danny Danon (Likud), head of the Aliyah, Absorption and Diaspora Committee, has called on German MPs to fulfill their promises to protect the right to circumcise minor children for religious reasons. “The right to practice Judaism must not be limited, particularly not in Germany,” he said.
In previous meetings, MPs said they would create legislation to prevent courts from ruling against circumcision, he said. “If you promised – now is the time to fulfill that promise,” he said.
Danon’s appeal came as a German rabbi faces a lawsuit for circumcising an infant.
