Former IDF Intelligence head General (res.) Amos Yadlin is not worried by the presence of Egyptian tanks in the Sinai Peninsula. “Terrorism is fought using tanks,” he told IDF Radio (Galei Tzahal).
“As long as the operation in Sinai is a widespread assault focused on terror, I think that we need to look at it in a realistic way,” he continued. The presence of more Egyptian forces in Sinai than were allowed under the peace accord “was approved by Israel in principle,” he said.
