Member of Knesset Yulia Shamalov-Berkovich (Kadima) said, Tuesday, that she hopes the Supreme Court rejects a petition by university heads to invalidate the university status recently given to the Ariel University Center by the Judea and Samaria Council for Higher Education. Interviewed by Arutz Sheva's Hebrew service, she called the petition political and frivolous, adding, "People are not dealing in the things they should be dealing in. This is a political suit that does not stem from a budget problem."
Shamalov-Berkovich regretted that there are those who refuse to recognize that Ariel is part of the state of Israel and called on the university heads to do some soul searching. She explained, "Unfortunately they still have not realized that Israel has not right to exist when we are divided ourselves. They may care about peace with our neighbors but peace with ourselves is more important."
