Russia, China Opposed to Int'l Intervention in Syria

Russia and China repeated their opposition, Tuesday, to international military intervention in the fight between forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad and opponents of his regime. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the two countries saw external involvement in Syria as a violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.

The statement followed word by United States President Barack Obama, Monday, that movement or use of Syria's unconventional weapons might change the U.S.'s refusal to take military action.
