The Israeli delegation to the United Nations sent a sharply-worded letter to Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the UN Security Council, Monday, demanding immediate condemnation by the Security Council of anti-Semitic utterances in recent days by Iranian leaders. Ban has already condemned President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei for anti-Israeli remarks made last week.

Ayatollah Khamenei had called Zionism "a cancer in the heart of the Muslim world," while Ahmadinejad called for "wiping the Zionist regime from humanity."
