The Japanese Foreign Ministry announced, Tuesday, that the journalist killed while covering the fighting between government and opposition forces in the Syrian city of Aleppo was Mika Yamamoto of Japan Press.

The veteran war correspondent's body was transferred from Syria to Turkey.
