Hong Kong cellular phone company Hutchison announced Monday that it was backing out of a planned deal to purchase Partner, the Israeli representative of Orange. The deal had been made last June. Hutchison had previously owned a majority stake in Partner, but sold it to a group headed by Israeli businessman Ilan Ben-Dov in 2009.
The reason for the cancellation of the deal was not immediately clear.
