Former agent Robert Baer of the United States Central Intelligence Agency advised the Bulgarian police, Sunday, to do its own investigation of the July 18th suicide bombing in Burgas, which took the lives of five Israelis, and not to rely on the U.S. or Israel, according to the Sofia News Agency. Interviewed by Bulgaria's bTV, Baer said, "You cannot receive an objective answer from them. Both the USA and Israel want to lead a war on Iran." Immediately after the attack, Israel blamed Iran and the Lebanese terror group Hizbullah, which is funded by the Tehran government.
Baer concentrated on the Middle East during a CIA stint between 1976 and 1997. He said, "Hezbollah has been operating in Bulgaria since the mid 1980s. They had a network and I have personally participated in investigating a group of theirs on your territory in the 1990s."
