Many worshippers prayed by the tomb of Rabbi Binyamin the Righteous in Safed Thursday night, marking the anniversary of his passing, nearly 2,000 years ago.

The Talmud relates that Righteous Rabbi Binyamin personally financially supported a woman and her seven children when the charity fund he was responsible for ran out. Subsequently, he fell deathly ill, and via angelic intervention on his behalf, the Almighty granted him an additional 22 years of life in the merit of his pious life-saving generosity.
