Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi spoke Wednesday at an Organization of Islamic Cooperation conference in Mecca. Morsi spoke against ongoing violence in Syria, and said the time has come for Syrian President Bashar Assad to step down.

“I’m surprised at those who hold off on solving the crisis, despite the bloodshed that continues even in the month of Ramadan,” he said.
