Two Manhattan Synagogues Receive 'Sacred Sites' Grants

Two synagogues in Manhattan are among the “Sacred Sites” in New York State that have received grants for physical repairs from the New York Landmarks Conservancy, The Jewish Week reported. The Stanton Street Synagogue on the Lower East Side will receive a $30,000 Jewish Heritage Fund Grant that will help pay for repairs on the building exterior walls and the East Village’s Sixth Street Community Synagogue will receive a grant of $25,000 that will be used toward repairing its roof and other needed improvement.
