The Organization for Public Trust welcomed on Tuesday the new the regulations examining each hotel in Israel according to international standards, but noted, “Even today, despite repeated requests to various parties in the industry, including the Ministry of Tourism and the Hotel Association, the phenomenon of advertising hotels in Israel according to their ‘star rating’ continues, despite the explicit prohibition to do so.”
The organization added, “The new regulations emphasize the existing vacuum and the thirst of the industry for regulation. It will take several months for the regulations to go into effect and consumers should not be left vulnerable to constant misleading.”
