An American thinktank said Tuesday that North Korea appeared to be close to completing construction of a nuclear reactor. The Institute for Science and International Security published satellite images of what appears to be a light-water reactor that could be used to develop nuclear weapons, experts said.
North Korea had earlier this year promised to suspend its nuclear program in return for food assistance, but the deal was suspended when the U.S. suspected Pyongyang of continuing with the program anyway.
