Visitors to Tel Aviv will be paying for parking beginning Wednesday. The cost of parking on city streets for non-residents is going up from NIS 5.30 per hour to NIS 6 per hour. Visitors to the city will be allowed to park at “blue and white” spaces only between 9 AM and 5 PM. At all other times they will have to use parking lots.
Residents, on the other hand, will have their choice of Tel Aviv parking spaces – for free, all day and every day. Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai said Tuesday that the only real solution to parking problems in the city was increased reliance on public transportation.
