Heavy traffic has been reported Tuesday afternoon at about 4:00 pm on Route 60. A car crash seems to be the reason for the grid locked traffic in both directions. There is particularly heavy congestion on the road in between the Shaar Benyamin shopping center and the Arab settlement of Hizma. 
 
Israeli authorities hope to create new access roads in the future as alternatives to Route 60 which goes from Jerusalem to such Samaria communities as Beit El and Shilo. Residents of the Palestinian Authority can also use Route 6  to get to Ramallah.
