Magen David Adom emergency service has asked the public to donate blood and help it replenish its stock, as it faces a shortage in donors. The shortage occurs every year in August. MDA is unable to receive 1,200 donations per day at this time of year, as it does during the rest of the year, because so many people are on vacation.
