Meretz chairwoman MK Zahava Galon on Monday accused Internet giant Google of not paying taxes in Israel as required by law.
In a post on her Facebook page, Galon wrote, “Remember that a week ago Google blocked a Meretz campaign urging the government to collect taxes from corporations according to law, arguing that it is a ‘sensitive issue’? We did not know how really sensitive of an issue it was for Google - I received information this week which indicates that there is suspicion that Google is avoiding paying taxes in Israels and transfers its revenues to tax havens overseas. It seems that the search giant has something to hide.”
