Leftist anarchists, some of whom participated in the Gaza flotilla two years ago and the attempted “flytilla” earlier this year in an attempt to swamp Israel with anarchists, plan a “bus-in” in several weeks. The group will assemble in Jordan and attempt to enter Israel via the Allenby Bridge crossing. Their objective is to reach Bethlehem, where they were invited to participate in a conference.
A formal invitation to the group was sent from the PA governor of Bethlehem to the French Foreign Ministry. In an accompanying letter, the governor asked France to insist that Israel let the bus through into Bethlehem. Israel has not yet commented specifically on how it will handle this latest attempt to flaunt its authority at the country's borders.
