The firing of Education Minister superintendent Adar Cohen signals the start of a new era clean of political interests, MK Alex Miller (Yisrael Beiteinu) said Monday. The promotion of personal ideology within the Education Ministry “crossed the line,” said Miller, who heads the Knesset’s Education Committee.

“In public institutions, and in the education system in particular, we must stick to pure professionalism, and make those who use their authority to promote personal goals bear personal responsibility,” he said.
