A young man arrested Sunday during a family vacation has been released, the Honenu legal rights group reports. The youth was arrested on suspicion of involvement in a “price tag” arson attack on a mosque.
He was arrested as he drove with relatives to a family gathering near the Kinneret. An attorney with Honenu accused police of ruining the family vacation with no cause, saying, “[The police] are too quick to make arrests, and think too little of the rights of a minor, with no criminal background, to freedom.”
Two youths who were arrested earlier in connection with the same attack were also released after investigators found no proof that they were involved.
