Report: Doctor Refused to Treat Soldier

A doctor in the Bikur Rofeh clinic in Be’er Sheva refused to treat a sick soldier, Kol Yisrael reports. The soldier’s mother alleges that her son visited the clinic complaining of a fever, vomiting, and weakness in his extremities and was ridiculed.

The doctor allegedly told the young man, “Only eighty-year-olds suffer weakness, are you eighty?” and refused him treatment, going so far as to have security remove him from the room.

The next day, the soldier was diagnosed with meningitis. He is currently hospitalized.

An IDF spokesperson told Kol Yisrael that the army will look into the report.
