MK Aryeh Eldad (National Union) has proposed a law to regulate prayer times for Jews on the Temple Mount. Deputy Chairman of the Israel Islamic Movement Northern Faction, Sheikh Camal Alhatib says that the possibility of Jewish presence in the al-Aksa Mosque is “remote like the distance of the stars from the Earth.”

MK Eldad responds that Jews wish to pray on the Mount, not in the mosque. “Our holy site is the Foundation Rock that the Muslims turn away from to face Mecca in prayer. By the way, as the government intends to dismantle and relocate the buildings of Ulpena Hill, it should be relatively simple to similarly dismantle and relocate the Dome of the Rock, which is not a mosque anyway.”
