Thirty-six-year-old Levi Aron pleaded guilty, Thursday, in New York's Supreme Court, to killing eighty-year-old Leiby Kletzky last summer. Under the plea-bargain, he faces 40 years to life in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for August 29th.
Assemblyman Dov Hikind, who represents the Borough Park neighborhood where Lieby's parents live, read a statement that said, "There is no way one can comprehend or understand the unspeakable pain of losing a child, but today we close the door on this one aspect of our tragedy." They also thanked prosecutors for quickly resolving the case without subjecting them to a painful trial.
