Chief of Staff: We Must be Ready for Multi-Front Attack

Chief of Staff Benny Gantz of the Israel Defense Forces said, Thursday evening, "In this past week alone, we have received several reminders of the potential for volatility in the region." Referring to Sunday evening's terror attack on the Israeli-Egyptian border, he said, "What happened at Sinai requires us to prepare for every scenario and prepare for a multi-front confrontation."

Addressing an event in Latrun in honor of reserve soldiers, Gantz continued, "In Sunday incident, we had accurate intelligence but we will not always have advance warning. Therefore, preparation for incidents like this, at routine times and during war, depends on the fitness of the reserves to report at the appointed time."
