Open-Door Carmel Fire Hearing Returns to the Knesset

It was announced, late Tuesday morning, that the Knesset State Control Committee's hearing on government failures in addressing the Carmel Ridge Fire of 2010 will be held at 12:30 Tuesday afternoon in the Knesset building without restrictions on media coverage. The meeting had been scheduled for the Prime Minister's Office to accomodate the appearance of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu - one of those singled out for criticism - because of an injury to his foot. The hearing was returned to the Knesset after the Prime Minister's Office demanded that it be closed to the media except for opening statements.

The Prime Minister and Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz are expected to appear before the committee.
