Teva to Investigate Itself on Bribery Charges

Teva Pharmaceuticals, the largest generic drug maker in the world, announced, Monday, that it has opened its own investigation into allegations that it bribed a South American official. The company said the investigation was in its initial stages.

Teva is subject to trade laws of the United States. Last week it was reported that U.S. authorities were investigating if the Israeli-based company had violated a law banning payments to foreign officials for business purposes.
