A British District Court judge ruled recently that a ten-year-old girl will be baptized according to the wishes of her father, despite her mother’s opposition. Addressing the girl in his ruling, Judge John Platt of the Rumsford District Court wrote, “Your father wants you baptized and your mum wants you to wait until your’e old enough to decide, and they asked me to make the decision. It’s my job. I hope you will continue to explore your Jewish heritage, which will always be a part of you.”
According to Torah Law, the child of a Jewish mother is irreversibly Jewish for life.
