A report by the Bloomberg news service Friday cited studies that said that Israel had enough natural gas to last it for 150 years, but that getting the gas out of the ground may prove difficult because of political issues. The reported quoted several figures in Israel's gas industry as saying that without reforms, foreign developers would be reluctant to come and develop the gas and prepare a system for export, the only way foreign companies would agree to be part of the development.
The report quoted one expert as saying that he would not be surprised if several of the fields remained undeveloped because of these political issues.
