Three years have passed since a fatal shooting attack at BarNoar, a Tel Aviv meeting place for gay and lesbian youth and supporters. The shooter has not yet been captured.
Former Kadima head Tzipi Livni spoke at a memorial event. “Tonight, this struggle is taking place in the streets,” she said, tying the memorial to ongoing “social justice” rallies. “I think it’s all connected. It’s the struggle for the right to live in the state of Israel with dignity. Living with dignity means living according to your beliefs and your heart’s leanings.”
